Water Survival Training
On Sunday, June 4, 2017, in the Municipal Swimming Pool of Piraeus, we conducted as part of the Cabin Crew Attestation, a training course on survival in water. The students were trained in the following:
- Survival kits (raft & survivors) and contents
- The best method for boarding the life raft
- Seating arrangements in the raft
- Basic principles of survival in the water
- ELTs
Correct donning of a lifejacket - Swim one length of the pool without a lifejacket
- Swim one length of the pool with a life jacket
- Deflate and re-inflate lifejacket in the water
- Team swimming to the raft
- Swim and retrieve an unconscious person
- Form a group circle HUDDLE position
- Boarding the life raft
- Practice assisting other persons into the life raft
